MARKET & BEST PRACTICE INSIGHT

Brief: PwC argues most AI strategies focus on which tools to buy, how fast to roll them out and which costs to cut. That may deliver incremental value, but rarely a competitive edge, as most competitors roll out AI the same way.

Breakdown:

  • From 2022 to 2025, S&P 500 firms that invested 1.6% of revenue in AI saw revenue growth 3.5% above sector medians, per PwC data.

  • Four ways to grow and be harder to copy: strengthen your core, expand adjacently, build AI-native offerings and reinvent the model.

  • Start with an AI portfolio that can win: focus capital on a few bets and starve the rest, as concentrated bets double growth.

  • Then pick a delivery model, track KPIs that matter, architect for where AI is going, invest in future talent and build trust in AI.

Why it’s important: Lasting growth comes from what’s unique to you: data that becomes a flywheel as your AI learns from outcomes rivals can’t see, your distribution network, your people and how fast AI aids their decisions, and trust that lets you grow where less-governed rivals can’t follow.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AMAZON DEVELOPER

Brief: Alexa+ is delivering what most AI services are still promising. Partners reach customers at the moment they're ready to act, with relevant, personalized experiences and built-in payments to complete tasks.

  • Reach customers across Echo, Echo Show, and Fire TV devices, plus the Alexa app and Alexa.com

  • Natural Discovery surfaces your service proactively

BEST PRACTICE INSIGHT & CASE STUDIES

Brief: OpenAI’s Head of Forward Deployed Engineering, Colin Jarvis, shared how its FDE team closes the “deployment gap” between what AI models can do and what businesses can rely on, and discussed the role at an OpenAI panel.

Breakdown:

  • Jarvis opens FDE team sessions with one core value: “Start with the outcome, do what it takes to succeed, then follow with scale.”

  • At a chip company, about 15 FDEs worked on 10+ use cases, saving 48% of test-writing time and cutting weeks of debugging to hours.

  • Moving custom apps onto a shared Codex harness (above) cut ~90% of custom code, and a second rollout took a day, not two months.

  • Where models fall short, FDEs work with Research to close gaps, lifting a telecom client’s voice agent from ~60% to 90%+ on evals.

Why it’s important: Many enterprises struggle to move AI from pilot to production, and model labs embed engineers to help close that gap. Leaders should expect AI vendors to share accountability for outcomes, and build internal teams that pair technical and domain skills.

MARKET & BEST PRACTICE INSIGHT

Brief: BCG’s survey of 142 senior leaders (board members, C-suite, SVPs etc.) and data from 1,330 firms found companies that scale AI innovation alongside governance see three times the ROI of those with low AI innovation levels.

Breakdown:

  • The first lever is transparency: leaders need to know how AI is used and what agents are doing in the firm, ideally in real time.

  • The second lever is accountability: every AI design, deployment and usage decision needs a clear owner, starting with executives.

  • Of the four archetypes, ‘accountable innovators’ deliver most AI ROI: 92% record AI decisions and 56% used a kill switch last year.

  • Firms that both record AI decisions and codify them into reusable policies see over 30% higher ROI than those that only record them.

Why it's important: High-profile AI incidents, costly hallucinations, bias, privacy breaches and staff offloading critical decisions to AI are keeping executives up at night. The challenge is encouraging experimentation and scaling innovation while managing these risks.

AI-NATIVE PROFESSIONAL

Brief: In this guide, you’ll learn how to give ChatGPT cash-flow inputs and constraints, then have it build an editable workbook that keeps your source cadence, flags safety-balance breaches and shows what drives cash pressure.

Step-by-step:

  1. Attach your inputs, such as beginning cash, receipts, payroll, vendor payments, timing assumptions and your safety cash threshold.

  2. Use the starter prompt so ChatGPT builds an editable .xlsx cash-flow workbook from your files, at your weekly or monthly cadence.

  3. Open the workbook full screen and check the timing assumptions, formulas, scenarios and summary tab showing the liquidity low point.

  4. Use the follow-up prompts to test scenarios one driver at a time, such as slower collections, keeping the base case visible for comparison.

Best practice: Confirm timing assumptions, check formulas tie back to source inputs, and have a person review flagged assumptions before sharing.

MARKET INSIGHT

Brief: PHP, the coding language behind ~70% of websites, patched two critical flaws, one found using OpenAI’s GPT-5.6 Sol, with the National Security Agency urging any firms who can’t patch right away to pull their systems offline.

Breakdown:

  • Security firm Calif found the first bug on Aug. 1 with GPT-5.6 Sol, Wiz independently found both and OpenAI helped coordinate fixes.

  • The flaws, dating back to PHP 5.4 in 2012, let attackers take over servers without logging in, including WordPress and Drupal sites.

  • PHP released fixes on Oct. 21. Self-hosted firms should update PHP, and those using cloud or managed hosting should check it’s done.

  • Finland, the Netherlands and France pulled government sites offline, while Cloudflare said it was “seeing early attacks emerging.”

Why it’s important: PHP’s reach makes this one of the largest exposures in years, and AI found flaws that went unnoticed for over a decade. Enterprises should confirm every PHP system is patched, check for prior compromise and expect AI to surface more flaws in legacy code.
