MARKET & BEST PRACTICE INSIGHT

Brief: BCG surveyed more than 1,300 CxOs and senior leaders across 20-plus sectors, providing empirical evidence for how companies can turn AI ambition into enterprise-wide impact, regardless of their starting point.
Breakdown:
Almost 50% of companies in BCG's 2026 Applied AI Index generate value from AI, moving beyond experimentation and starting to scale.
AI value comes from strategic clarity and applied AI; companies strong in both generate five times the value of those that aren't.
Corporate AI spending has doubled in just one year to 3.3% of revenue, and 80% of it now sits outside the traditional IT budget.
The playbook for becoming an agentic, future-built company varies by each company's starting point (image above).
Why it's important: There is no shortcut to becoming future-built, but one principle applies broadly: it is an organizational shift, not a tech upgrade. BCG's 10-20-70 model puts 10% of effort into algorithms, 20% into technology and data, and 70% into people and processes.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TELEPORT
Brief: AI agents operating at scale have characteristics that have no equivalency in purely human or software environments. Zero trust, as currently conceived, is insufficient to contain them. Teleport's white paper explores what must change to preserve trust as agents enter your infrastructure.
The Teleport advantage:
Least-privileged access enforced per request for every AI identity
Short-lived certificates that eliminate static credentials and secrets
Full identity attribution for every AI action across your infrastructure
Audit-ready visibility into human and machine access alike
Trust doesn't scale by default. Read the white paper.
MARKET & BEST PRACTICE INSIGHT

Brief: IBM published a 48-page report drawing on a survey of 1,500 CFOs, exploring how AI-first finance leaders create value and how their role in enterprise transformation is expanding as AI scales.
Breakdown:
The CFO is shifting from financial steward to value architect, with 62% now taking on technology or AI strategy responsibilities.
CFOs should manage uncertainty rather than eliminate it, staying agile and adapting investment decisions as new evidence emerges.
As technology, talent, risk and capital decisions grow interconnected, CFOs must work closely with the C-suite to align priorities.
Rather than optimizing for predictability, CFOs must keep options open (image above) and reallocate capital as conditions shift.
Why it’s important: CFOs were long seen as guardians of stability, responsible for financial discipline and risk control. That remains essential, but evaluating decisions is no longer enough. CFOs must now shape them from the start, connecting strategy, execution and value.
INNOVATION INSIGHT

Brief: Google unveiled Gemini 4 Argon, its new frontier model that beats GPT-6 Astra and Claude Opus 5.5 on 13 of 19 benchmarks in Google's own testing, though it is rolling out only to select vetted cybersecurity teams for now.
Breakdown:
Argon debuted at No. 1 on Arena's text leaderboard, scoring 53 on Artificial Analysis' index, behind Opus 5.5 and tying Fable 5.1.
It hit a leading 77.9% on DeepSWE for real-world coding and also topped tests for knowledge work, long documents, charts and video.
It delivers frontier legal, finance, and cyber performance, with API pricing at $2/$10 per million tokens, rising to $4/$20.
Cyber defenders and trusted testers go first, followed by paid API customers and Google AI Ultra subscribers, then wider release.
Why it’s important: After Gemini 3 put Google near the front last November, 2026 proved difficult, with a scrapped 3.5 Pro and months without a model beyond Flash. Argon puts Google back in the frontier race, but a broader rollout will show whether this is a real comeback.
AI-NATIVE PROFESSIONAL
Brief: In this guide, you'll learn how to give ChatGPT your tracker, initiative docs, KPI changes, past briefs, owner notes, decision log and stakeholder context, then have it summarize progress, blockers, risks, and decisions.
Step-by-step:
Define the reporting period, initiative, audience and status vocabulary, then attach the tracker, initiative docs and KPI changes.
Add prior briefs and the decision log, then ask ChatGPT to reconcile current status with owner notes and stakeholder context.
Run the starter prompt and review progress, risks, blockers, decisions and next actions against source material.
Check stale items and owners, then use the follow-up prompt to create a delta-only view for faster reviews.
Best practice: Use a leadership version for decisions and a stakeholder version for follow-ups, both tied to the same source record so facts align.

MARKET INSIGHT

Brief: Stanford HAI published the ninth edition of its AI Index Report, a 423-page study giving one of the most comprehensive, data-driven views of artificial intelligence, tracking technical progress, economic impact and policy.
Breakdown:
AI capability is accelerating: industry built 90%+ of notable models in 2025, SWE-bench scores neared 100%, and adoption hit 88%.
The U.S.-China gap has narrowed: the U.S. leads in top models and high-impact patents, China in publications, citations and robots.
The U.S. has 5,427 data centers, over 10x any other country, while one Taiwanese foundry, TSMC, makes almost every leading AI chip.
AI sovereignty is shaping national policy, yet model production stays concentrated in the U.S. and China as open source widens access.
Why it’s important: For nearly a decade, the AI Index has brought reliable global data to a field moving faster than efforts to measure it. Trusted by media, governments and companies, it gives leaders rigorous insight into AI progress, economic influence and social impact.
