Bain's $4.7 trillion AI profit shift
Plus, Claude commerce agents, sovereign AI, and more.
Edition in partnership with
Welcome executives and professionals. Most CEOs lived through the technology disruption of the Internet. But it's a mistake to let that memory shape your intuition. AI is bigger, faster, and broader.
Since the previous edition, we have reviewed hundreds of the latest insights in agentic and generative AI, spanning best practices, case studies, market dynamics, and innovations.
This briefing outlines what is driving material value — and why it’s important.
In today’s briefing:
AI will shift $4.7 trillion in profits.
Sovereignty is no longer optional.
State of agentic AI in the enterprise.
Claude for commerce agents.
Transformation and technology.
Insights for Executive+ members.

MARKET INSIGHT

Brief: Bain & Company explored how AI will shift $4.7 trillion in profits. Profits will be created, won, and lost in every sector, and each will differ. The more conviction you have about yours, the faster you can build a lead.
Breakdown:
AI puts $4.7 trillion of profit at stake from 2025 to 2035, more than triple the Internet's $1.4 trillion shift, in half the time.
AI will transform 71% of all sectors versus the Internet's 41%, newly including healthcare, manufacturing and professional services.
That shift equals about a fifth of projected 2035 global profits: productivity ($1.1T), innovation ($2.2T) and market share shifts ($1.3T).
These shifts will not fall evenly. Industries cluster into four groups: technology foundation, rewired, augmentation and revolution.
Why it’s important: For CEOs, the job is to form a view of what will matter in your industry a decade out. That view is what lets you move fast and leave competitors behind. The $4.7 trillion profit pool shift is already underway; the question is whether you capture it.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TELEPORT
Brief: Teleport extended its Identity Security platform to answer the three questions every team running agents in production eventually faces: what the agent actually did, whether that was expected, and what’s the risk of what it might do next.
Live with Teleport's Ben Arent. In this session:
Turn a three-hour agent session into a 30-second summary
Audit at the LLM proxy across Claude Code, OpenCode, Pi and Codex
Write Agentic Classifier policy that catches attempted workarounds
Triage at agent scale with Risk Scoring and MITRE ATT&CK mapping
MARKET & BEST PRACTICE INSIGHT

Brief: Capgemini's 72-slide report, drawing on 1,300 executives, finds digital sovereignty moving from policy debate to boardroom priority, as companies seek control over their critical assets across cloud, software, data and AI.
Breakdown:
93% of boards have discussed digital sovereignty, and half have already appointed or are considering a chief sovereignty officer.
Reliance on global suppliers across cloud, software and hardware creates concentration risk and limited substitutability (image above).
59% say full digital sovereignty is unrealistic; many are pursuing hybrid models built on federated control and managed interdependence.
54% believe they can strengthen sovereignty without sacrificing competitiveness, highlighting the need for practical, risk-based strategies.
Why it's important: Digital transformation has created new dependencies across cloud, software, data and AI. As geopolitical tensions rise and cyber threats intensify, enterprises increasingly face risks beyond their direct control. Essential reading for CIOs, CTOs, CDOs and risk leaders.
MARKET INSIGHT

Images source: Salesforce
Brief: Salesforce published insights from 2,025 decision makers on what it takes to realize ROI from agentic AI. The bulk of the findings focus on the 30% of respondents that have fully deployed AI agents in production.
Breakdown:
Early adoption doesn't mean early returns: Professional and Business Services were among the slowest to adopt, but fastest to ROI.
The prime determinants of success are clean, accessible data, narrow agent scope and human escalation paths (image above).
On average, companies that deploy AI agents in production hit meaningful ROI in eight months, with a 29% lift in customer satisfaction.
Most deployed agents run in defined human-and-agent workflows, not full autonomy, and 81% say human reentry rose as deployments expanded.
Why it’s important: The findings run against the intuition that speed wins: preparation, not pace, tracks with returns. What separates enterprises seeing value from those stuck in expensive pilots is trustworthy data, defined human oversight and guardrails built in advance.
AI-NATIVE PROFESSIONAL
Brief: In this guide, you'll learn how to ask ChatGPT Work to turn your spreadsheets into a private, interactive ChatGPT Site, check the source data on a schedule, and flag the changes that need your attention.
Step-by-step:
Attach a sales export or spreadsheet, or paste the exact link to an approved Google Sheet or Google Drive file you want to analyse.
Leverage the starter prompt. ChatGPT then checks the columns, dates, and customer records carefully before drawing conclusions.
ChatGPT Sites converts the results into a private, interactive dashboard with charts, filters, and calculations behind the results.
A scheduled ChatGPT Work task checks the approved source file each weekday and refreshes the dashboard when data changes.
Best practice: Leverage the follow-up prompts to take it further, or ask ChatGPT to share it with specific people or make it available to your workspace.

BEST PRACTICE INSIGHT

Brief: Anthropic published a guide to building commerce agents with Claude. Many of the world's largest retailers, marketplaces, e-commerce platforms and travel companies use Claude to build agents that make shopping simpler.
Breakdown:
Enterprise customers including Shopify and Priceline run agents that let shoppers search in plain language, then compare and buy.
Anthropic's blueprint gives engineering teams the harnesses, patterns and guardrails to get a commerce agent running fast.
It includes reference implementations for retail, travel, and telecom, and the code deploys on Bedrock, Foundry and Vertex AI.
There are demos for each vertical, with partners including Accenture, Mastercard and Visa supporting rollout.
Why it’s important: Commerce has always rewarded making the buying process as smooth as possible. Agents make it easier for enterprise customers. Retailers running shopping agents on Claude in production see carts up to 35% larger and shoppers 60% more likely to purchase.
